Community Living Program
Individuals in these programs typically live on their own, with peer roommates, or with their families. Some people we support are high school age and other people are in their nineties. Assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enjoy active, productive and empowered lives. While L.I.F.E. strives to assist individuals to be self-reliant, we also recognize that some people with disabilities have greater needs and require additional assistance. L.I.F.E. staff are trained to provide for individuals whether that means total care for all daily living tasks, such as bathing, toileting, eating and dressing or occasional support for more difficult tasks like budgeting or vacation planning. Whole Life employees are compassionate and caring individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities. They are very experienced, highly skilled and participate in regular and ongoing training for continuous professional development. Since 1987, Whole Life has been partnering with people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities to build supports based on their own personal choices, needs, goals and dreams.

Transforming LIVES
In this program, supported individuals are assisted in leaving their homes and engaging in the community. Many of Home Life’s residents attend community gatherings, public events, bowling nights, and much more. Each home provides individualized care to support residents, allowing them to live as independently as possible. The Residential Program’s homes have 24-hour care staff and are operated by separate Program Managers who are overseen by a Program Director.
Olleman House was dedicated to Dean and Betty Olleman in October of 2007 and serves 3 women. We will continue to provide updates as we reopen each line of service. People who are referred for group home placement must be enrolled in the comprehensive waiver program through Connecticut’s Department of Developmental Services . The Plymouth community recently enjoyed a visit to the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI. It was a fun evening of bright lights and lots of smiles. They learned valuable cooking skills, including food prep organization and cleanliness skills. Sensory skills through tasting, hearing, touching, smelling, and seeing different foods.

Home Life is a growing non-profit with a Residential Program with seven group homes, Supported Living Programs, and a Vocational Program. L.I.F.E.'s Supported Employment Program is in place to assist developmentally disabled adults who are ready, willing and able to work. Supported individuals at Home Life get the help they need to share their gifts and work toward their goals. There is no need to join us if you want to use the information for your personal use.
The Home Life team is also “Team Lucy.” We know she is developing essential skills of young adulthood through the dedication and care of Home Life staff.
